PRESIDENT OBAMA'S "I HAVE A PEN" SPEECH
Fifty years ago Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech which changed the course of history. Dr. King knew very well how important the Constitution of The United States is and how to use the Constitution to achieve his goal. Dr. King was one of the greatest Americans.
Now we have a President who also studied the Constitution and even taught it for a while. For a second time, last January during the inauguration he took an oath to UPHOLD (not hold up) the Constitution.
On Tuesday, January 28th the president gave his annual State of the Union speech at the Capitol. In his speech he warned the members of the Congress and the people of America "I HAVE A PEN" and if he does not get his way he is going to go around the constitutionally prescribed way of conducting the business of the country and do whatever he likes to do "for the people!"
Mr. President, obey the Constitution which you occasionally characterize as
"a charter of negative liberties." Negative liberty? That is POSITIVE FREEDOM!
Freedom is man's most cherished ideal, it is every American's birth right and it is God given and you have no authority to mess with it.
Your job is to UPHOLD the Constitution, not hold up!
