Et tu TU ?
Dear Times Union Editors:
As a fairly well-informed American, nothing you published recently has enraged me more than your "re-tweet" of the New York Times' shameless, thoughtless article, on page A-8 on May 21, 2015 titled "LOW U.S.rail spending leads to poor safety." What you and the NYT are alleging is that the American taxpayer is responsible for the accident that took the lives of more than eight people.
NO, with your logic, I can say that the horrific accident was caused by a LYING NEWS INDUSTRY in America, that hide THE TRUTH and cater to the needs of "CROWDS" or groups that subscribe to the false European notion that we can create heaven on earth and people will live happily ever after if everything is controlled by "government!"
I can also say that Mr. Barack Obama is responsible for the accident because he is the president and the buck stops on his desk, right? Not so, INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM made America what it is today. May I humbly reinstate that truth on this Memorial Day, and salute all those who fought for FREEDOM and gave their lives in defense of freedom!
If you look at the scene of the accident, any idiot with some basic knowledge of physics can conclude the reason for the accident by connecting three words - SPEED, CURVE and RAIL-TRACK. This accident was caused by human error, not "FUNDING." And New York Times could not figure that out?
Do you have any idea of the size of our federal budget? Do you know how many hundreds of billions of dollars are just wasted by the over-paid bureaucrats who spend it, and cannot be held responsible for whatever they do? If you had, you would have had a second thought of writing such a shameful, reckless piece insulting the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS who are drowning in taxes, thanks to the Obama Presidency which is a creation of the lying (when you hide the truth, you are lying) New York Times and its siblings in the news industry.
If the news industry had any integrity or honesty Mr. Obama would not have been elected president. In fact, the Hearst Newspapers which had an interview with Mr.Obama in 2008 at which time he said that under his plan energy prices would sky-rocket. If it were a Republican - black or white - that would have been the end of the Obama presidency. If a Republican were uncertain about the number of States in the United States, he would have been destroyed! Poor Barack thought it was 57?
THE PRESS lies and distorts truth every day to manipulate our elections and sell their news products to all those who maintain a great life-style by depending on THOSE WHO PAY TAXES. No wonder when anything goes wrong in America the news industry which should be called THE NEWS KLUX KLAN cries out - LACK OF FUNDING!
I will still continue to subscribe to TU, as long as I can, because I care for those who work, earn a living and PAY TAXES without which no government would exist. And you have quite a few. It would be a change if Newspapers would abandon their fear of these minuscule "CROUDS" and print the TRUTH.
